古和浦祇園祭

祭り情報

祇園祭は、毎年７月に三重県南伊勢町古和浦で行われる、明治初期（約１４０年前）から続く祭りです。
み舟（船の形をした神輿）は竹や提灯で飾られ、中には大太鼓や締太鼓、数本の篠笛、鉦の囃子方８人が乗っていて、祇園囃子を奏でます。
約６０人の男たちが、重さ２ｔのみ舟を担いで町中を練り歩きます。広場に出ると、祭りの盛り上がりはピークを迎えます。その後、囃子方を乗せたみ舟を漁船にうつし、弁天島を一周して帰港すると、花火が上がります。

Gionsai is held annually July in Kowaura, Minamiise town, Mie Prefecture. The festival dates from the beginning of the Meiji era, approximately 140 years ago.
Mifune Mikoshi, a portable shrine, is decorated with small bamboo and paper lanterns. One large and one small taiko drum, several Japanese flutes, and a bell play Gion bayashi. The performers ride on a Mifune Mikoshi.
About 60 men carry the shrine and parade through Kowaura and go to an open space. Here the festival reaches the climax. After that, the performers and Mifune Mikoshi floats on a fishing boat, and when they travels around Bentenjima Island, the fireworks go up.
